| About Saffanna |
Born in Memphis, Tennessee at the end of the Baby-Boom
generation, Saffanna was drawn to the arts throughout her formative
years. After graduating high school, she married and became an
artist-in-waiting through much of her life. Raising children, pets and
nurturing family and friends was her main mission. Once her
children were all at school age, Saffanna enrolled in college with an
eye on a career in art. Life had other plans and midway through her
degree she left school to follow her husband to a new military
assignment.
Upon reaching a certain age, she realized that she needed to tap
the artistic side of her nature, and didn't want to be "in-waiting" any
longer. It was upon her discovery of flickr.com (a photo sharing site)
and exposure to the wonderfully diverse assortment of people and
their work, she decided to jump in with all four feet and explore her
own inner muse. She is still learning and still growing. Sometimes
she hits the mark and often doesn't, but is now an active participant
in this thing called art.
